#3 of 7 hotels in Port Allen by Axel's take. Port Allen is #5 of 6 places to stay in Baton Rouge. The best hotels in Port Allen, ranked · Where to stay in Baton Rouge

Axel's take: 7.0/10

A practical budget stop, but room upkeep needs more consistency. A budget, all-suite chain hotel in Port Allen, scored for what it is.

Comfort Suites is a budget, all-suite hotel in Port Allen, rather than Baton Rouge proper. It’s a reasonable pick for drivers who want extra room and useful basics: free parking, hot breakfast, in-room microwaves and refrigerators, and a seasonal outdoor pool. Recent Expedia guests often praise comfortable beds, clean rooms and helpful staff. The overall guest ratings suggest a good-enough stopover, not a standout for the class.

The catch is inconsistent room condition. Alongside positive stays, recent guests report humid rooms, mildew smells and uneven housekeeping; there are also pest complaints. Those deserve attention without overshadowing the many satisfied guests. Expedia lists a breakage deposit, and the pool is outdoor and seasonal—not indoor. We’d consider it for a short, practical stay, but skip it if you’re sensitive to musty smells or want reliably polished surroundings.

  • Best for: Road-trippers needing a short stop; Budget travelers with a car; Travelers wanting extra room space

  • Watch out for: Recurring dampness and mildew-smell reports; Uneven housekeeping and some pest complaints; Seasonal outdoor pool only

  • Location: In Port Allen, west of the Mississippi; the hotel places downtown Baton Rouge six miles away.

  • Rooms: Suites include microwaves and refrigerators; comfort earns praise, but upkeep varies.

  • Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms, alongside recurring odor complaints and some pest reports.

  • Service: Recent reviews often praise friendly staff, though housekeeping consistency draws criticism.

  • Amenities: Free hot breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi; fitness center and seasonal outdoor pool.

  • Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a breakage deposit; pets are not permitted, except service animals.
