#2 of 3 hotels in Noord by Axel's take. Noord is #4 of 5 places to stay in Aruba. The best hotels in Noord, ranked · Where to stay in Aruba

Axel's take: 9.2/10

An excellent self-catering base if you trade beachfront convenience for space and quiet. a family-run, mid-range apartment complex inland from Palm Beach, scored for what it is.

Costa Esmeralda Village is a family-run, mid-range collection of houses, apartments and rooms, not a beachfront resort. It's a strong pick for travelers who want comfortable accommodation and personal service rather than a busy hotel scene. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the cleanliness, helpful staff and peaceful gardens. Two pools and well-equipped kitchens in the houses and apartments make it particularly practical for families and longer stays.

The main compromise is location: Palm Beach is roughly 1.7 kilometers away, and guests describe a hot, partly unshaded walk of around 20–25 minutes. We'd rent a car; parking is free. Choose your category carefully, since the official site says standard double rooms lack kitchens, and outdoor space varies between apartments. There's no elevator, and late arrivals need advance coordination. Skip it if easy beach access and full-service resort facilities are essential.

  • Best for: families wanting self-catering space; couples seeking a quiet base; longer stays with a rental car

  • Watch out for: not beachfront; a rental car helps; kitchens and outdoor space vary by category; no elevator; limited reception hours

  • Location: Inland Noord beside Papiamento restaurant; Palm Beach is roughly 1.7 kilometers away.

  • Rooms: Guests praise spacious apartments; houses and apartments have kitchens, while standard doubles do not.

  • Cleanliness: Consistently strong praise across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia, including daily housekeeping.

  • Service: Recent guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff, practical recommendations and responsive help.

  • Amenities: Two pools, gardens, barbecue facilities and free parking; beach chairs and coolers available on request.

  • Fees and surprises: Guest laundry and extra beds cost extra; coordinate arrivals after 5 p.m. in advance.
