W Amsterdam is a design-led 5-star split between a former bank and communications building beside Dam Square. It’s a good pick for travelers who want rooftop drinks, a heated outdoor pool and a substantial spa alongside central sightseeing. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the location, comfortable beds and welcoming staff; the social spaces are a bigger draw than dependable luxury polish.

The trade-off is inconsistency. Recent reviews across sites describe worn finishes, housekeeping misses and uneven service alongside plenty of excellent stays. Some guests also report music reaching rooms, and the two-building layout means amenities aren’t all under one roof.
