#8 of 9 hotels in Downtown & EDo by Axel's take. Downtown & EDo is #2 of 6 places to stay in Albuquerque. The best hotels in Downtown & EDo, ranked · Where to stay in Albuquerque

Axel's take: 7.4/10

Friendly service makes this basic Route 66 motel a sensible budget stop. a no-frills 2-star Route 66 motel near downtown, scored for what it is.

This is a no-frills 2-star motel, and we'd consider it for a budget overnight rather than a hotel-centered vacation. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful owners; Booking.com guests echo the strong service. Free parking, in-room microwaves and refrigerators make it practical for road-trippers, while the location suits downtown and university-area visits.

The trade-off is an older property with dated furnishings, not a freshly polished hotel. Recent cleanliness feedback is mostly positive, though not unanimous. Choice also discloses a mandatory housekeeping fee and a deposit, so check the full booking terms. Smoking rooms are available: select your room carefully. We'd skip it if modern interiors or extensive amenities matter more than a straightforward, economical stay.

Best for: budget road-trippers; short downtown or university-area visits; travelers who value friendly service
Watch out for: dated rooms and furnishings; mandatory housekeeping fee and deposit; smoking and nonsmoking room categories
Location: On Central Avenue near downtown, with convenient access to university-area destinations.
Rooms: Older, simply furnished rooms with microwaves and refrigerators; comfortable beds draw praise.
Cleanliness: Recent feedback is largely positive, with occasional bathroom and linen complaints.
Service: Helpful owners and welcoming staff are the clearest recurring strength across sites.
Amenities: Free parking and Wi-Fi, lobby coffee and a seasonal outdoor pool; confirm seasonal availability.
Fees and surprises: Housekeeping fee and deposit required; dogs incur additional charges, and eligible rooms need confirmation.
