Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong Reforma base for clean rooms and breakfast, not full-service comforts. a practical, limited-service 3-star on Paseo de la Reforma, scored for what it is.

This is a practical, limited-service 3-star rather than the four-star experience some listings suggest. We'd choose it for a sightseeing or business trip where location matters more than hotel facilities: Reforma 222 is next door, with restaurants and shopping close at hand. Booking.com and Expedia show strong overall ratings, while recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise housekeeping, comfortable beds and the included breakfast. It's a strong pick for travelers spending most of their day out.

The trade-off is a straightforward chain-hotel experience: IHG confirms there's no pool or on-site restaurant beyond breakfast. Service earns plenty of praise, but several recent Tripadvisor guests describe less helpful reception or luggage assistance. Parking costs extra, too. We'd skip it for a pampering stay; for a clean, convenient city base, it delivers well.

• Best for: first-time Mexico City visitors; business travelers around Reforma; travelers wanting breakfast included

• Watch out for: no pool or full-service restaurant; occasional uneven front-desk assistance; paid parking

• Location: On Reforma beside Reforma 222, with dining nearby and the Angel of Independence within walking distance.

• Rooms: Straightforward rooms; recent guests praise their space and comfortable beds.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor housekeeping reviews.

• Service: Mostly praised, though recent Tripadvisor accounts show uneven reception and luggage assistance.

• Amenities: Included breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a fitness center; no pool or on-site restaurant.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking and valet parking carry daily charges; expect limited-service rather than four-star facilities.
