Recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia feedback consistently favors the clean rooms, helpful staff and included breakfast. Free parking, an indoor pool and a gym round out a useful package: good value through solid basics rather than anything fancy.

The main compromise is location: this is a suburban base, not a walk-out-the-door Chicago sightseeing hotel.
