Axel's take: 8.1/10

A convenient Chelsea base with useful kitchenettes, but cramped rooms and busy mornings. A practical mid-range extended-stay hotel in Chelsea, scored for what it is.

This mid-range extended-stay hotel is a strong pick for travelers who prioritize getting around Manhattan over spreading out indoors. Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and the subway are close, while included breakfast and kitchenette options add practical value. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Tripadvisor reviews also underline the location’s convenience.

The catch is space and congestion. Despite the Suites name, many rooms are compact, with limited luggage storage. Elevator waits recur across review sites, although not every guest experiences them, and breakfast can feel crowded rather than leisurely. Marriott lists housekeeping every other day, worth knowing on longer stays. We’d choose it for a sightseeing-heavy trip, but skip it if you need generous living space or reliably quick departures each morning.

• Best for: Couples packing light; Sightseeing-heavy city breaks; Travelers wanting kitchenette options

• Watch out for: Elevator waits at busy times; Compact rooms and limited storage; Crowded breakfast periods

• Location: Convenient for Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and the nearby 28th Street subway.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and useful kitchenette options; room size and luggage storage are recurring limitations.

• Cleanliness: Recent Expedia feedback is strongly positive; Marriott schedules housekeeping every other day.

• Service: Recent guests frequently praise friendly, helpful staff, though experiences are not uniformly positive.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, fitness center and lobby coffee; check the kitchen equipment in your chosen room category.

• Fees and surprises: Parking, pets and received packages carry extra charges; parking is off-site.
