Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong-value Marina base with spacious rooms, useful parking and some traffic noise. A no-frills motor inn near the Marina’s shops and restaurants, scored for what it is.

Coventry Motor Inn is a straightforward motor inn that delivers well on the basics: clean, generously sized rooms and a walkable location near Chestnut Street’s restaurants. Recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise the updated interiors, comfortable accommodation and convenient parking. We’d pick it for a practical sightseeing stay, particularly with a car, rather than for hotel facilities or atmosphere.

The main compromise is noise: street-facing rooms can catch Lombard traffic, and some guests also mention loud air-conditioning. There’s no hotel breakfast or restaurant, so plan to eat nearby. Covered parking is advertised as complimentary, although the official homepage specifically ties free parking to direct bookings; confirm your reservation’s terms. Light sleepers and anyone wanting full-service amenities should look elsewhere.

• Best for: Sightseers traveling with a car; Families wanting roomy, simple accommodation; Value-minded travelers who eat out

• Watch out for: Traffic noise in street-facing rooms; No hotel breakfast or restaurant; Confirm parking inclusion before booking

• Location: Walkable Cow Hollow–Marina setting near Chestnut Street dining, shops and bus routes.

• Rooms: Spacious, updated rooms with mini-fridges and coffee makers; road and air-conditioning noise can intrude.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia, Tripadvisor and Trip.com reviews.

• Service: Generally helpful staff and a 24-hour front desk; confirm housekeeping arrangements on arrival.

• Amenities: Covered parking, Wi-Fi and an elevator; a practical base rather than a facilities-led hotel.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a damage deposit; parking terms should be checked because the official homepage specifies direct bookings.
