Axel's take: 8.0/10

A strong Chinatown base for Dodgers trips, with comfortable rooms and some noise trade-offs. a refreshed 3-star hotel in Chinatown, scored for what it is.

This refreshed 3-star Aiden by Best Western is a strong pick for Dodgers games, Chinatown dining and trips through Union Station. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Booking.com’s cleanliness ratings reinforce that picture. The hotel’s updated rooms and Sugar Cane Room lounge give it more personality than a basic chain stop, without making it a luxury stay.

The main compromise is quiet: street noise and sound from other guests crop up in reviews, so request a room away from Hill Street. Parking costs extra, and Expedia now lists breakfast as a surcharge despite older listings promising it free. Confirm your booking’s inclusions. We’d choose it for a practical city break, but light sleepers should look elsewhere if uninterrupted rest is the priority.

  • Best for: Dodgers fans; Chinatown food explorers; travelers using Union Station

  • Watch out for: street and neighboring-room noise; paid parking and breakfast; confirm elevator operation if essential

  • Location: Chinatown restaurants and Metro access nearby; convenient for Dodger Stadium and Union Station.

  • Rooms: Updated rooms earn praise for space and comfortable beds; sound insulation is less consistent.

  • Cleanliness: A clear strength across Booking.com ratings and recent Expedia reviews.

  • Service: Recent feedback is predominantly positive about helpful staff, though experiences vary.

  • Amenities: Fitness center, free Wi-Fi, café and Sugar Cane Room lounge; refrigerators in rooms.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast carry charges; late-2025 elevator outages warrant checking if step-free access matters.
