Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong airport pick for clean, spacious suites and genuinely helpful staff. a modern, select-service all-suite hotel near Austin’s airport, scored for what it is.

Atwell Suites is a modern, select-service airport hotel, renovated and rebranded from Holiday Inn Express in 2024. It’s a strong pick for a flight stopover or practical Austin base: Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise cleanliness, comfortable beds and helpful staff, while Tripadvisor guests also appreciate the spacious layouts. Included breakfast, free parking during your stay and an airport shuttle make the package particularly useful.

The trade-off is location: choose it for airport access, not a downtown neighborhood stay. Suites have microwaves and refrigerators rather than full kitchens, and evening dining is geared toward light bites. Confirm shuttle arrangements directly, especially for late arrivals, because guest reports and published hours differ. Expedia lists winter pool closures. We’d skip it for a car-free sightseeing trip, but it delivers the airport-hotel basics unusually well.

• Best for: airport stopovers; business travelers wanting workspace; travelers with a car

• Watch out for: Confirm late-night shuttle arrangements; Seasonal outdoor pool; Not a downtown sightseeing base

• Location: Convenient for AUS; downtown attractions require a separate journey.

• Rooms: Spacious studio suites with work areas, microwaves and refrigerators, not full kitchens.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia and Booking.com feedback.

• Service: Staff receive frequent praise for friendliness, attentiveness and practical help.

• Amenities: Included breakfast, a 24-hour gym, airport shuttle, outdoor pool and evening light-bites bar.

• Fees and surprises: Stay parking is free; extended parking and pets cost extra, and Expedia lists an incidental deposit.
