Axel's take: 8.7/10

Roomy suites and helpful staff make this a strong base near Chapultepec. A small, mid-range apartment hotel in Anzures, near Chapultepec and Polanco, scored for what it is.

Lombardo Suites is a small, mid-range apartment hotel in Anzures, a strong pick if you want space and a kitchen rather than full-service hotel polish. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the roomy suites, cleanliness and helpful staff, with recent reviews reinforcing those strengths. Chapultepec and Polanco are within walking reach, while complimentary breakfast, parking and a rooftop terrace add practical value for longer stays.

The trade-offs are mostly modest: breakfast draws mixed reactions for variety and its limited dining space, and some guests report noise from the street or breakfast area. A few reviews also flag worn furnishings rather than serious disrepair. Light sleepers should request a room away from the breakfast space. We'd choose it for an independent city stay, but skip it if you expect luxury finishes or guaranteed quiet.

• Best for: Longer stays with self-catering; Museum-focused city breaks; Business travelers near Polanco

• Watch out for: Street and breakfast-area noise; Limited breakfast space and variety; Some furnishings show wear

• Location: Anzures base within walking reach of Chapultepec, Reforma and the edge of Polanco.

• Rooms: Spacious suites with kitchens and sitting areas; confirm bed arrangements, as extra sleeping space may be a sofa bed.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor, including recent stays.

• Service: Helpful staff are a consistent strength; the official site confirms 24-hour reception and security.

• Amenities: Complimentary breakfast, rooftop terrace, gym, Wi-Fi and parking; breakfast space is limited.

• Fees and surprises: Laundry costs extra; Expedia advises contacting the property before arrivals after midnight.
