Axel's take: 5.7/10

Convenient for a cheap stopover, but cleanliness and upkeep are too inconsistent. a no-frills 2-star motel beside I-35, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star motel beside I-35 has practical appeal: free parking, pets staying free, and easy driving access to New Braunfels attractions. Booking.com and Expedia guests rate staff more favorably than facilities, and some recent visitors describe clean, comfortable stays. We'd consider it for a basic overnight stop, not as a dependable vacation base.

The main problem is consistency. Across Expedia and Google reviews, guests repeatedly describe worn fixtures, uneven cleaning and maintenance problems; pest reports also recur. An October 2026 Expedia guest reports a renovated room, which is encouraging, but doesn't establish a property-wide turnaround. The listed indoor pool and hot tub are useful extras, though we'd confirm their condition before booking around them. We'd skip it if reliable cleanliness or a quiet family stay matters most.

  • Best for: budget-conscious overnight drivers; travelers with pets

  • Watch out for: inconsistent cleaning and recurring pest reports; worn fixtures and maintenance problems; hallway and door noise

  • Location: Convenient I-35 frontage-road base for drivers, rather than a downtown walking stay.

  • Rooms: Basic rooms with microwaves and fridges; condition varies, with one recent renovation report.

  • Cleanliness: Clean stays are reported, but repeated cleaning complaints and pest reports undermine confidence.

  • Service: Often described as friendly and helpful, although problem handling is uneven.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, parking and coin laundry; booking sites also list an indoor pool and hot tub.

  • Fees and surprises: Pets stay free within restrictions; payment policies conflict across booking sites, so confirm directly.
