Axel's take: 8.9/10

Choose it for warm service and spacious rooms, not a resort-style escape. An Indian-influenced 5-star city hotel in Business Bay, scored for what it is.

Taj Dubai is a 5-star city hotel in Business Bay, and a strong pick for travelers who value attentive service over beachfront spectacle. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, spotless, spacious rooms and generous breakfast. That consistency makes it a convincing luxury base for business trips and Downtown sightseeing.

The location needs perspective: being near Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall does not mean everything is conveniently walkable; the hotel's complimentary mall shuttle helps. An Expedia guest staying in June 2026 reported construction next door affecting the pool setting, so check its current status before planning pool days. The official website also lists MEDA as temporarily closed. We'd choose it for comfort and hospitality, but skip it for a beach holiday or a stay centered on poolside relaxation.

• Best for: Business travelers who value personal service; Downtown sightseeing with shuttle or taxi trips; Families wanting spacious city-hotel rooms

• Watch out for: Nearby construction reported in June 2026; confirm current status; Less walkable than the landmark proximity suggests; MEDA temporarily closed

• Location: Business Bay base near Downtown; guests flag limited walkability, while Taj advertises a complimentary Dubai Mall shuttle.

• Rooms: Spacious, comfortable rooms draw consistent praise; book the appropriate category if a Burj Khalifa view matters.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength: recent guests repeatedly describe spotless rooms, supported by strong aggregate cleanliness ratings.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff and thoughtful personal attention are the most consistent cross-site positives.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, spa, 24-hour fitness center and several dining venues; MEDA is currently listed as temporarily closed.

• Fees and surprises: A tourism levy is collected at the property; check breakfast inclusion and the status of neighboring construction before booking.
