Axel's take: 8.2/10

A dependable Broadway base with strong service, though nearby subway works complicate access. a practical 3-star near Vancouver General Hospital and the Canada Line, scored for what it is.

This practical 3-star near Vancouver General Hospital is a strong pick for hospital visits or exploring Vancouver by transit. Recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com guests consistently praise clean rooms and helpful staff, while Broadway–City Hall’s Canada Line connection makes airport and downtown trips straightforward. The indoor heated pool, gym and on-site restaurant add useful comforts without making this anything fancier than a dependable chain hotel.

The trade-offs are older-looking décor, occasional busy-time elevator waits, and a location outside downtown’s sightseeing core. Breakfast generally costs extra, as does parking. More importantly, Broadway Subway construction remains active nearby: Broadway between Cambie and Alberta is closed to vehicles until approximately January 2027, with other nearby lane restrictions. We’d skip it if you want polished interiors or downtown attractions on your doorstep.

• Best for: Vancouver General Hospital visitors; travelers using the Canada Line; families wanting an indoor pool

• Watch out for: nearby Broadway Subway construction and detours; older décor and occasional elevator waits; breakfast and parking cost extra

• Location: Near VGH, restaurants and Broadway–City Hall station; convenient transit access rather than a downtown address.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and well maintained, but some décor looks dated; higher-floor views receive praise.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest reviews, including praise for daily housekeeping.

• Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are one of the clearest recurring positives.

• Amenities: Indoor heated pool, gym, free Wi-Fi, guest laundry and Stages Bistro & Lounge.

• Fees and surprises: Paid parking and generally extra-cost breakfast; nearby subway works bring road closures and lane restrictions.
