Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong entertainment getaway, but smoke and resort extras limit its appeal. an upscale casino resort with three distinct hotel towers, scored for what it is.

This upscale casino resort works best as a self-contained entertainment break: pools by day, restaurants, gambling and Hard Rock Live by night. We'd pick it for a concert weekend rather than a beach vacation. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms and friendly staff; Trip.com feedback also supports the pools and facilities, though service is less consistent. Check your reservation carefully: the original Hard Rock Hotel, Guitar Hotel and Oasis Tower are different accommodations within the same resort.

The biggest drawback is smoke, with guests reporting odors beyond the gaming floor. The hotel confirms smoking-optional floors, so request a non-smoking floor if that matters. Allow for a daily resort fee and an incidental card hold; valet costs extra, while self-parking is complimentary. We'd skip it for a quiet, smoke-sensitive escape or a stay centered on walking to the beach.

• Best for: Hard Rock Live concertgoers; casino and nightlife weekends; pool-focused resort breaks

• Watch out for: smoke odors beyond the casino; different towers require careful booking; daily resort fee and incidental hold

• Location: Convenient for on-site entertainment, but inland rather than beachfront; beach trips require transport.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable; some original-tower guests describe older rooms, so confirm your tower.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent Expedia feedback, despite occasional housekeeping complaints elsewhere.

• Service: Recent praise outweighs complaints, though Trip.com guests report some luggage-handling and responsiveness problems.

• Amenities: Extensive pools, restaurants, casino, spa, gym and live entertainment make staying on property appealing.

• Fees and surprises: Daily resort fee and nightly incidental authorization; free self-parking, paid valet, and smoking-optional floors.
