Hollywood Hills Hotel is a simple, contactless hillside hotel whose strongest assets are room space, kitchenettes and views across Los Angeles. It suits independent travelers who would rather have a balcony above Hollywood than a busy boulevard address. Yamashiro is adjacent, but it is a separate restaurant: reaching it means leaving the hotel gate and walking up the public road.

The trade-offs are substantial for a three-star stay. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests describe uneven maintenance, dirty floors and noise, alongside praise for clean, comfortable rooms. Digital arrival works smoothly for some travelers; others report difficulty getting help. The location

1999 N Sycamore Ave, Los Angeles

The door opens onto a hillside hotel-and-parking complex off North Sycamore Avenue, beside Yamashiro rather than a strip of shops. Restaurant access requires exiting the gate and continuing uphill on the public road. TCL Chinese Theatre is 13 minutes on foot and the Walk of Fame 14 minutes; the return climb makes those walks more demanding than the numbers suggest.
