Hotels in UshuaiaA simple self-catering apartment hotel outside downtown Ushuaia
8.5/10
Comfortable apartments and helpful hosts, but confirm opening dates before committing.
Choconcito is a simple self-catering apartment hotel, not the full-service four-star experience its catalog rating suggests. It's a strong pick for families and travelers who want space and a kitchen rather than hotel extras. Booking.com guests praise the cleanliness, comfortable beds and responsive hosts; recent Hotels.com reviews reinforce the picture of warm, roomy accommodation and friendly service. We'd rate it highly for practical comfort and value.
The main compromise is being outside downtown: allow for a substantial walk or taxi rides. Arrange arrival beforehand, since reception hours are limited, and check your apartment's layout if stairs matter. More importantly, Expedia and Hotels.com list a January 23–December 31 closure without specifying a year, despite reviews dated within that period. Confirm operation directly before booking. We'd skip it for a downtown, full-service stay.

Best for: families needing apartment space; travelers who prefer self-catering; value-minded longer stays
Watch out for: conflicting closure information; walk or taxi ride to downtown; limited reception hours and some duplex layouts
Location: Outside the downtown core, with mountain views and shops nearby; less convenient for doorstep sightseeing.
Rooms: Spacious, heated apartments with kitchens; some have internal stairs, and Hotels.com lists no elevator.
Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com ratings and recent guest feedback.
Service: Hosts earn repeated praise for helpfulness and quick responses; coordinate check-in in advance.
Amenities: Kitchens, free Wi-Fi, a garden and terrace are verified; a restaurant is not confirmed.
Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; parking is off-site, and the listed closure needs direct confirmation.
