Axel's take: 4.9/10

Convenient for drivers, but recurring cleanliness problems make this a difficult recommendation. a basic 2-star roadside motel with conference facilities, scored for what it is.

Parkview is a basic 2-star roadside motel, not a full-service conference hotel we'd choose for a getaway. Highway access, parking outside the rooms and included breakfast are its practical strengths. Some recent Expedia and HotelPlanner guests describe quiet, clean stays and friendly staff. But Booking.com's 5.3/10 and Expedia's 5.8/10 suggest the inconsistency is substantial, even for budget accommodation.

The concern is more than dated decor: recent reviews repeatedly describe worn bathrooms, dirty-looking towels, plumbing problems and cockroaches, with pest complaints appearing on Expedia and Tripadvisor. Service ranges from helpful to unresponsive. The pool has repeatedly been reported unusable; don't book expecting a swim. A security deposit applies, and pets cost extra. We'd skip it for family vacations or anything beyond a short stopover unless you're comfortable accepting significant room-condition risks.

Best for: drivers needing a short highway stop; budget travelers willing to accept substantial compromises
Watch out for: recurring cleanliness and cockroach complaints; worn bathrooms and unreliable plumbing; pool reported unusable
Location: Convenient to Routes 22 and 309; better suited to drivers than a walkable Allentown visit.
Rooms: Ground-level, drive-up accommodation; recurring reports of aging fixtures, damaged furnishings and plumbing faults.
Cleanliness: Some guests report clean rooms, but repeated dirty-linen and cockroach complaints undermine confidence.
Service: Friendly staff earn praise, while other guests describe unhelpful responses and difficulty obtaining extra towels.
Amenities: Free parking, Wi-Fi and continental breakfast are listed; do not rely on the pool being available.
Fees and surprises: A security deposit applies, with additional charges for pets and rollaway beds; confirm pool status directly.
