Axel's take: 7.0/10

Convenient downtown access and a standout pool, but consistency remains the catch. a large, convention-focused 4-star in downtown Atlanta, scored for what it is.

Courtland Grand is a large, convention-focused 4-star in downtown Atlanta: a practical base rather than a polished luxury stay. Its location near Peachtree Center MARTA, on-site dining and glass-domed courtyard pool are the strongest reasons to book. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests frequently praise helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. We'd consider it for a short downtown trip, especially without a car.

The hotel says its renovation is complete, but recent Trip.com guests still describe dated interiors, maintenance niggles and uneven service. Noise and expensive parking are recurring drawbacks. More importantly, Tripadvisor and Dragon Con forums document reservation cancellations and relocations in summer 2026; reconfirm directly before an event stay. We'd skip it for a special occasion or if dependable service and quiet matter more than location.

• Best for: car-free downtown sightseeing; short business trips; travelers who want an indoor pool

• Watch out for: event-stay cancellation history; expensive valet parking; noise and uneven room condition

• Location: Downtown base about seven minutes on foot from Peachtree Center MARTA, with major attractions walkable.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds earn praise, but recent guests still report dated finishes, maintenance issues and noise.

• Cleanliness: Recent feedback is broadly positive, though housekeeping and bathroom upkeep are not uniformly reliable.

• Service: Many staff receive enthusiastic praise; problem handling and reservation management are less consistent.

• Amenities: Glass-domed heated courtyard pool, fitness center, free Wi-Fi and several dining options.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking and breakfast cost extra; a damage deposit and early-check-in fees apply. Reconfirm event reservations.
