A practical sightseeing base, with helpful staff but uneven rooms.
Hotel King is a simple 3-star whose biggest selling point is its position near the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Barberini metro. We'd consider it for a short, sightseeing-heavy trip rather than a hotel-centered holiday. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful reception staff, and some describe comfortable, refreshed rooms. The breakfast veranda adds a pleasant extra to an otherwise straightforward base.
The catch is consistency: positive room reports sit alongside complaints about dated bathrooms, maintenance and basic furnishings. Cleanliness feedback is generally better on Booking.com than Tripadvisor, so neither the best photos nor the worst review tells the whole story. Check the exact room category; the smallest doubles are compact. We'd skip it if polished interiors and reliably modern bathrooms matter more than location.

Rooms: Simple and variable; small doubles are listed at 14 square meters, with balconies in the Superior category.
Cleanliness: Mostly positive on Booking.com and recent Expedia reviews, but Tripadvisor feedback is more mixed.
Service: Helpful reception staff are a recurring strength; the official site confirms 24-hour assistance.
