#3 of 8 hotels in Ben Youssef & Northern Medina by Axel's take. Ben Youssef & Northern Medina is #3 of 8 places to stay in Marrakech. The best hotels in Ben Youssef & Northern Medina, ranked · Where to stay in Marrakech

Axel's take: 9.2/10

Exceptional hospitality makes this small medina riad worth the walk. A small, traditional mid-range riad in the northern medina, scored for what it is.

Riad Losra is a small, traditional mid-range guesthouse that stands out for getting the essentials right. Recent Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests consistently praise clean, comfortable rooms, generous Moroccan breakfasts and staff who help with everything from directions to early departures. We'd pick it for personal attention and good value rather than big-hotel polish. The tiled interiors, courtyard and rooftop terrace give it plenty of character.

The main compromise is location: expect roughly 20–25 minutes on foot to Jemaa el-Fnaa, rather than stepping straight into the busiest souks. There is no elevator, so travelers with mobility limitations should confirm access before booking. A recent Booking.com guest describes the courtyard pool as small—think cooling off, not swimming lengths. It's a strong choice for couples and independent explorers; skip it if doorstep access to the main square is your priority.

  • Best for: Couples seeking a personal welcome; Independent medina explorers; Travelers who value character over hotel polish

  • Watch out for: 20–25-minute walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa; No elevator; Small courtyard pool

  • Location: Northern medina near Bab Yacout; away from the busiest tourist streets.

  • Rooms: Individually decorated Moroccan-style rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, mini-fridges and safes.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent Tripadvisor and Booking.com reviews.

  • Service: The standout: repeated praise for attentive hosts, local advice and practical help.

  • Amenities: Rooftop terrace, small courtyard pool, hammam, Wi-Fi and breakfast; dinner by reservation.

  • Fees and surprises: Local tax is extra; transfers and parking cost extra, and Expedia lists a card-payment surcharge.
