Farther northeast, Hohenfelde becomes more residential, with handsome stretches around Uhlandstraße and the Alsterschwimmhalle rather than a continuous entertainment strip.

Do not choose by station distance alone. Recent visitors describe visible drug use and uncomfortable encounters immediately around the Hauptbahnhof, while recommending Lange Reihe and the lake-facing streets nearby.
