- Tromso: Tromsø, where the sun stays up from May 20 to July 22: midnight hikes and the Fjellheisen cable car
- Bodo: Bodø's midnight sun from June 4 to July 8, and the Lofoten Islands (May 28 to July 14) by ferry
- Reykjavik: Reykjavík's near-midnight sun, light all night around the solstice, and Grímsey island on the Arctic Circle

- Yellowknife: Yellowknife's sun sets at 11:39 pm around the solstice and is gone only about four hours, so it never gets dark
Only the places above the Arctic Circle (Tromsø, Bodø, Lofoten, Inari, Kiruna, Rovaniemi) get a true 24-hour sun; Iceland, Alaska, the Yukon and Yellowknife get sunsets near midnight and a sky that never goes dark. Fairbanks has not confirmed its 2027 festival date yet. Pack an eye mask.
