This practical 3-star in the Koral Center is a strong pick for travelers who want comfortable basics rather than resort trimmings. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and the included breakfast; overall ratings are strong across both sites and Booking.com. The rooftop pool and neighboring El Merkado food hall give it more appeal than a typical highway hotel.

The compromise is location: this is not beachfront, and we'd budget for a car or rides to beaches and central San José. Hilton puts nearby beaches within a ten-minute drive and offers no airport shuttle.
