An Hoi puts the evening scene across the footbridge from Old Town. Nguyen Hoang carries the night market, while Nguyen Phuc Chu lines the river with places to drink and watch the boats. It suits travelers who want dinner, lanterns and another drink without arranging a ride home.

The trade-off is noise, not access. Nguyen Phuc Chu’s bar strip is a poor match for early nights, so choose away from the market and ask specifically about amplified music.
