Coco Beach is a family-friendly 4-star waterfront resort, 3.5 miles north of San Pedro, and we'd choose it for pool time rather than a classic beach holiday. Its two large pools, waterslide and swim-up bar are the main draw, backed by unusually consistent praise for helpful staff and spotless grounds. Recent Tripadvisor and Hotels.com guests reinforce that picture. Suites and villas offer useful space for families, with kitchens available in selected categories.

The waterfront setting does not guarantee good swimming: seagrass and seasonal sargassum can make the shoreline unappealing.
