Winston-Salem Marriott is a full-service, mid-range convention hotel whose strongest selling points are its downtown location and people. The direct connection to Benton Convention Center makes conference trips easy, while nearby restaurants give you reasons to leave the building. Hotels.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff and clean, comfortable rooms. We'd choose it for a business trip or downtown weekend rather than a special-occasion stay.

The main drawback is the elevators: Tripadvisor and Marriott's own recent reviews describe slow service, outages and lengthy waits, especially when the hotel is busy.
